Questions, answered
How do parents announce they have arrived?
Two ways: parents can sign in to the mobile portal and tap “I’m here”, or simply tap a physical RFID card on the reader at the gate. Both instantly call their child to the pick-up screen.
Does ePassGate work if the internet goes down?
Yes. The gate device keeps a local copy of the student roster, photos and sounds, so RFID scanning, the on-screen list and voice announcements keep working fully offline. Web button calls resume the moment connectivity returns.
Can one parent have several children?
Absolutely. Each parent account can be linked to multiple students, and every child gets their own call button and RFID card.
How is a child announced on the screen?
When called, the child appears on the big gate display with their photo and name, and the speakers announce them out loud — playing the recorded sound twice (or speaking the name if no clip is set).
Is the system secure?
Yes. Passwords are hashed, the admin console is CSRF-protected, the device API uses a shared secret, uploads are validated, and everything is served over HTTPS.
